How to Overcome Jealousy

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

What are the logical and practical ways to overcome jealousy?
Question: I would like some advice on jealousy. I get jealous very easily and when I do it consumes me completely.
I know the jealousy I feel inhibits my ability to manifest the things that I want in life, especially as the greater my want for something the greater the jealousy, but also it really just makes my life miserable! And I would love to find some practical logical ways of overcoming it. Can you help?
An example of this is a friend of mine just sent a huge email around telling everyone about her and her partner buying a house. I am genuinely pleased that she is happy but my natural reaction is one of jealous rage (I obviously would never breathe a word of this to a soul!)
I am jealous that she is buying a house, jealous that she can because she has a partner to do it with, jealous of their steady incomes, jealous they have found each other and can move on to the next stage, jealous that they are younger than me, jealous they can fill their new home with all their lovely furniture and make it their own, jealous that they can finally start to settle, and rest a little, and nest and make their life together… the list goes on and on.
How can I prevent myself from going mad with jealousy? Or, perhaps can I harness this energy somehow and use it positively?
Answer: Here’s the good news: Where there is great desire, there is absolutely the potential for great creation. Where there is jealousy, there is great desire. Your work, that you are clearly aware of, is to remove the jealousy and let your great desires manifest.
Our lives are the outer reflection of our most dominant inner thoughts. Therefore, the more we allow negative emotions such as jealousy and the thoughts that rouse envy, the more we attract ‘less of what we want’ and more examples of others fulfilling our dreams!
First, let’s understand where the jealousy comes from in order to eliminate the root cause.
Jealousy comes from a state of disconnection. This debilitating emotion comes from the severing of your relationship to Spirit, from the Truth of your being, the Truth that you are unlimited and pure potentiality. Jealousy is an indication that you do not accept the Truth that you are inherently Divine and worthy of all that you desire just because you were born.
Jealousy is your indication that you are afraid. You are afraid that you are not worthy or good enough to have (or keep) what you want. You are afraid that others have the power to take what you want away from you and that somehow you are defective, inadequate, and not worthy of a fulfilling life filled with love, prosperity, peace, security, beauty and the Presence of God that you really desire.
Jealousy is the consequence of years of being told by others and by yourself that you don’t deserve what you want. Jealousy comes from having low self-esteem and the inability to courageously and boldly believe in you.
It’s all a lie! You are worthy and deserving of all that you desire because you were born! You are pure potentiality with the absolute power and unlimited potential to have, be, and do anything and everything you desire. You are a Divine Child of God born to live a fulfilling life filled with abundant, lavish prosperity and passionate, exuberant love!
Choose to be willing to forever let go of any and all feelings of jealousy from this point forward. Then, set out on a mission to master the new skill of intentional gratitude, acceptance, courage, faith, and joy.
Methods for overcoming jealousy:
Read everything you can about how to increase your self-esteem. A greater understanding of the problem will support you in fully integrating the solution.
Send love and gratitude to your friends and anyone and everyone that has fulfilled their dreams. Send them love as quickly and as often as possible while choosing to know that if they can fulfill their dreams, you can too.
Intentionally walk yourself up the vibrational scale from Fear to Courage every day. (See my Vibration Elevation formula for a practical tool.)
Stop judging yourself. Give yourself the love and self-acceptance you deserve. Choose to nurture the inner child that is afraid of not being able to have what he/she wants and affirm the truth that you are worthy of love and deserving of your dreams.
Meditate. Meditation is a sure-fire way to reconnect with the Presence of God within. The more you meditate, the more you align with your unlimited potential; the more you increase your conscious awareness of the Spirit of Divinity within you, the more effortless your journey towards spiritual connection becomes (and thus the elimination of jealousy).
Use Emotional Freedom Technique: Examples of how you can use Emotional Freedom Technique to eliminate and eradicate jealousy:
Even though I’m terribly afraid that I’m not worthy or good enough to have what I want, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. And, what if I had the faith to know that I am worthy and good enough?
Even though I’m horribly jealous, I choose to love and accept myself. And, what if I could be at peace and truly happy for my friends?
Even though I hate it that others have what I want and I don’t, I choose to love and accept myself and what if I trusted that I can have what I want too?
Even though I hate myself for being so jealous, I deeply and completely love, accept, and forgive myself. And, I choose to joyously celebrate their creations and know that this means I can have what I want too!
Even though I am on fire with rage and jealousy and feel angry, hurt, and afraid that I’ll never get what I want, I choose to deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself! And, I choose to be at peace with what is. I choose to know that all is well and in Divine Order and that I am absolutely worthy of all that I desire.
Even though I’ve always been jealous of others and I don’t know how to stop or let go of my jealousy, I deeply and completely love, accept, and forgive myself. And, what if I was free to be grateful and excited about their accomplishments? What if I truly accepted that I am unlimited and therefore also meant to fulfill my dreams easily?
Knowing the core beliefs that cause jealousy is essential to overcoming it. Your work is to intentionally accept the Truth of your Divinity, consciously choose to raise your self-esteem and eliminate any and all thoughts of unworthiness as quickly as possible.
You will know you are on the right track, when you begin to feel a greater sense of peace about your life and who you are. Be patient. At first, you may not see the immediate fruits of this change in the way of actual manifestations. Remember, you’ve probably been envious and jealous for a good portion of your life and the new thoughts will have to take root and grow before you’ll *see* the physical results in the way of your dreams manifesting.
Simply remind yourself that 90% of creation is complete before you ever see a single shred of evidence. When you begin to see the ’signs of land’, calmly and self-assuredly give thanks because this means that you are 90% done! You are only a few short steps away from the fulfillment of your dreams.
Be willing to stay the course and you will absolutely overcome jealousy. On the other side is a beautiful life filled not only with the fulfillment of your dreams but the sheer joy of knowing what you’ve accomplished because you intentionally chose to live deliberately and from a place of love.

You Are What You Eat And How It Affects Your Health Insurance

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

Growing waistlines equal growing healthcare costs. At least that’s how it seems regarding health and health insurance. A famous documentary has already shown the short-term impact of too many super-sized meals. But did you know that there’s another price you’re paying now - in health insurance dollars - for our nation’s weight problem?
Health insurance rates have been rising, with double-digit increases in each of the past three years. Most analysts blame these rising costs on an increased use of medical services. Are we just a nation of hypochondriacs? Why are we visiting doctor’s offices in droves? As many experts are pointing out, part of the answer may be obesity.
More than 60 percent of Americans presently qualify as overweight or obese. Even among children, obesity rates have tripled over the past decade. Obesity is known to considerably raise your risk of orthopedic problems, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, certain types of cancer, and respiratory problems. The Surgeon General’s office estimates that obesity costs the economy more than $100 billion a year.
Insurance companies understand that obesity is costly. If you’re an obese person trying to get health coverage, you may be turned down due to the risks associated with your weight. If you’re not turned down, you’ll probably pay more for coverage, up to twice as much as a slimmer person. And even though you can’t be turned down for employer-sponsored health insurance based on obesity, the increased cost of insuring you becomes a financial burden not only for you, but also for your coworkers.
Now this doesn’t mean that skinny people should blame heavier people for the annual insurance rate hikes that everyone dreads. There are other factors involved, like the increased use of prescription drugs and costly new medical technologies. But if the majority of Americans is obese and it’s substantially more expensive to insure an obese person, you can begin to see how big a role an expanding waistline may play in expanding health insurance costs.
So, what can we all do about this waistline epidemic? In the United States alone, obesity is expected to overtake smoking as the number-one cause of preventable death. Through a combination of government action and an aggressive public persuasion campaign, smoking is on the decline. These tactics can also be used in the battle on obesity.
Or perhaps we need to make the connection between obesity and health insurance costs more apparent to encourage our government and public health organizations to help in the battle of the bulge. Maybe that will encourage health insurance companies to expand coverage for weight-loss programs and procedures. Most importantly, perhaps if we feel the impact of obesity in our pocketbooks, we’ll take our health more seriously.
If you’ve never considered the ramifications of what you eat, maybe you should. It may not seem like it will affect your health now, but it certainly will in the long run. And as you’ll discover, what affects your health also will eventually affect your bank account.

What is XLink?

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

My existence on this planet as a web designer was so easy when I first started developing websites back in 1996. Ah, those were the days. When someone wanted me to create their website, they would provide all the content and some simple design instructions, then I would transfer that content into a simple text file, use basic HTML to give it some formatting, throw in some graphics and a logo, upload the files and collect my money.
Since the turn of the century, the task of designing a website has become intensely complicated, and it continues to become more difficult everyday. When wireless internet access was introduced, every electronic device imaginable came equipped with access to the internet and email. People were surfing the web on their laptops, palm tops, cell phones, even on computer screens installed in automobiles which had previously only been used for navigation.
The birth of the wireless revolution changed the future of programming. These wireless devices often have web browsers that work very differently from the ones installed on an ordinary desktop PC. Many of these browsers are not fully compatible with many elements of the HTML programming language. As a result, people surfing the net on their wireless gadgets can not view many websites that are created using only basic HTML.
To fix the situation, languages and specifications that could be adapted across any platform were created. These new innovations included XML, XHTML, XSL, and several others. XML was a language that defined data without telling the web browser how to display it, as opposed to HTML, which displayed data a certain way. This enabled data to be viewed on virtually any system because an XML file was a simple text file that could be understood and displayed on any browser. XHTML and XSL are complex programming specifications that transformed XML into actual web pages that could be displayed effectively on all browsers.
Now that you have a basic understanding of how and why programming has changed, you are now ready for the main topic of this article, XLink. If you work as a web designer, you probably know how to create a hyperlink. Hyperlinks are created by putting some text in between link tags that delineate the URL that the text placed between the tags is to be linked to.
With XML, creating a hyperlink is more complicated because with XML, there are no predefined tags. With XML, you can create any tags you please and a web browser does not know what any of them mean, because XML merely defines data, it contains no instructions as to how to display the data.
So, to create a hyperlink in XML, you must declare what an XLink is at the top of the XML document using what is called an XML namespace, so that wherever an XLink appears within the document, the web browser will know that the XLink is a hyperlink and display it. The reason why we have to use a namespace is because XML tags are not predefined. By using the XLink namespace, the browser will know that when you apply the XLink marker within your XML document, you are intending to create a hyperlink. Go to the Word Wide Web Consortium (W3) web site to find out how the XLink namespace is created.
It is also possible to create a hyperlink in an XML document that links to another portion of that same XML document, much the same way anchor tags are used in HTML to create a link to another portion of the same web page. Links to different sections of the same web page are often seen on pages that contain Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), so that the user can click on the question and immediately skip down to the answer which usually appears somewhere else on that same page. With XML, anchor tags are not used. Instead, XPointer Syntax is utilized. XPointer Syntax is very simple to create; like HTML, XPointer makes use of the number sign to indicate the text that is to be anchored to, but the syntax that is used to define the link is not indicated the same way as it is with HTML. To find out how to use XPointer, visit the World Wide Web Consortium (W3) website or perform a search on any search engine for XPointer tutorials.
Every web designer should learn how to use XML, XHTML, and XSL if they want to survive in the constantly changing world of web design. Internet access is now available on almost every electronic device imaginable, so it absolutely necessary to create versatile web sites that can be viewed by everyone regardless of how they connect to the world wide web.

Instant Approval Credit Card- Misconception

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

The first step in getting a card, if you are in a hurry, it should be to apply online for instant approval credit card. It is this plain and simple. Internet came into being only about a decade back and in this extremely short period of time it has become an integral part of our daily life.
Starting from applying for credit cards to finding friends to shopping, Internet has become the most important facilitator in our life.
Let us go back in time by just more that a decade or so, or before the advent of Internet to be precise. Applying for a card those days was as time taking and cumbersome as any other process of that age.
For most people like us, getting a credit card involved replying to a credit card invitation along with completely filled up application form and relevant documents attached. And then, the wait through excruciatingly long waiting period before the credit company processed your application form, verified your credit record and other credentials and communicated to you their decision, consent or otherwise.
This entire process used to drag on for weeks, or even months before anyone finally received his or her cards. One of the slowest links in this entire chain was the speed, or lack of that, of a snail mail. Atypical to any snail mail, communication between the credit applicant and the card issuer company used to take days, or even weeks. In addition to being time consuming, this process was expensive as snail mail is never free of cost, unlike web-based communication.
With the advent of Internet, everything changed. Well, almost.
Apply online for instant approval credit card, and you are through more than half of the application process. Applying online reduces communication cost as well time involved, there by making life easier for you, the buyer, as well as the credit card companies, the seller.
However, there is a very commonly prevalent misconception that needs to be addressed to. Instant approval credit card does not mean you get a credit instantly. Instant approval credit card simply implies that the decision of giving approval to the applicant will be taken instantly.
The physical delivery of the card, however, will take a couple of days more.
Despite the fact that an approval credit card does not result into instant credit cards, these cards offer marked advantages as compared to tradition credit cards. A comparative evaluation of features of other similar credit cards, for example, is a tool that may differentiate a good credit card from a financial debt trap.
A preliminary search in common search engines like Google, MSN or Yahoo will throw hundreds of credit card company sites that promises instant approval. As a mature customer, dear friend, it is your duty to filter out not so good offers from the best of the offers.
And this requires a bit of effort in terms of screening through the terms and conditions, especially the charges applicable and the credit period. So you can consider and apply online for an instant approval credit card anytime soon, for at least, urgent financial security situations that might arrive.

What is the Cause of Water Pollution?

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

Water pollution refers to the changes in the physical, biological, and chemical conditions of any body of water which harmfully disrupts the balance of the ecosystem.
Like any type of pollution, water pollution results when an overwhelming amount of waste coming from different sources of pollutants can no longer be accommodated by the natural ecosystem. Consequently, when the wastes are not destroyed as fast as they are produced, they make it unfavorable to humans and many other organisms. But that’s not all. Learn more about what causes water pollution.
There are actually many specific reasons behind what causes water pollution. However, it is important to familiarize yourself with the two main categories of water pollution. Some pollution comes directly from one’s specific location. This type of pollution is called point source pollution such as sewage pipes that empty polluted water into the river and farmland. Meanwhile, non-point source pollution is pollution that comes from large areas like gasoline and other dirt from highways that go into the lakes and rivers.
What are the causes water pollution? Who are the culprits who should be responsible for the harm brought by their pollutants? How do these sources of pollution pollute different bodies of water?
One major cause of water pollution that has caused serious environmental and health problems are the pollutants coming from chemical and industrial processes. When factories and manufacturers pour their chemicals and livestock wastes directly into streams and rivers, the water becomes poisonous and oxygen levels are depleted causing many aquatic organisms to die. These wastes include solvents and toxic substances. Most of the wastes are not biodegradable. Power plants, paper mills, refineries, automobile factories dispose waste into the rivers.
The heated water from the power plants is called thermal pollution. This kills aquatic animals and plants by reducing the oxygen content of the water. Power plants use water to cool their machineries, thus changing the temperature of the water.
Aside from thermal pollution, there are also organic and inorganic pollutants. The organic wastes include refuse from slaughter houses, fish and meat canning factories, and leather tanning companies, manufacturing plants, pesticides and crude oil companies. Since organic wastes are decomposed by microorganisms, much of the dissolved oxygen in water is used up and the waster begins to stink.
Inorganic wastes include toxic and corrosive substances like acids, heavy metals, mercury, cadmium and lead which can impair the normal body processes. Battery manufacturers, mining, paper mills increase the concentration of mercury making the water dangerous and poisonous for most living things.
Another cause of water pollution is from pesticides. Farm pesticides poison aquatic plants and animals. Animal manure, chemical fertilizers, phosphate detergent pollute water by supplying excess nutrients. This pollution is known as eutrophication. This greatly increases the growth of algae in water thereby decreasing the amount of oxygen level in water causing the death of many aquatic organisms.
Water is also being polluted by garbage specifically plastics and other plastic-like substances. Some plastic like nylon can entangle fishes and other marine animals. Plastics that have broken down into tiny pieces can be eaten by sea creatures which may cause their death. Since plastic is non-biodegradable, it will continue to kill more fishes.
One more cause of water pollution is sewage coming from households. Since no one wants to live in a polluted area, near a dumpsite or landfill, the wastewater and untreated sewage are carried away from the home polluting different bodies of water. Most developing countries practice this type of sewage disposal. Even modern countries carry poorly treated sewage to canals leading to major bodies of water. The danger is when the sewage pipes gets broken and waste contaminates the drinking water. When this happens, the breakage will open a wide array of water borne diseases that will surely pose peril to consumers.
Last among the causes of water pollution are personal care and household products. Shampoo, lotion, moisturizer, hair dye, bleach, laundry detergent, fabric softener, and many others contribute to water pollution. Human waste is not the only thing that goes to sewage. These products also join the wastewater to contaminate the streams, rivers, and lakes.
Although the world abounds with water, only three percent of it is potable. Included in the 3% source of potable water are the streams, spring, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls that are continuously being threatened and contaminated by the different factors that cause of water pollution. If the sources of water pollution are not controlled, this basic necessity will eventually become a rare commodity only a few can afford to have.

Sports Betting: 9 Strategies for Success

月曜日, 1 月 11th, 2010

Want to win like the pros at sports gambling? The biggest difference between professional gamblers and the rest of us is that professional bettors implement specific strategies on a consistent basis. While they enjoy the process, professionals don’t get caught up in the emotions of sports gambling.
It really comes down to consistent implementation of 9 key strategies. If you can adopt the following strategies when betting on sports, you’ll go a long way to improving your results and your payouts.
1. Be patient
There’s no way around it: successful gambling requires patience. That means take your time and be willing to wait for the “near” perfect opportunities. They come around every single week.
That’s not to say you should ignore last-minute betting opportunities. Sometimes, it is important to act quickly. Just keep in mind that if something seems too good to be true, it often is.
If you take your time and deliberate carefully about every betting proposition, the odds are much greater you’ll finish higher on the day.
2. Research, research, research
This is what your 4th grade teacher would have called “doing your homework”. Be aware of the competitive environment, understand how you can both win and lose money, and most importantly, collect as much information as possible.
Important considerations will include field conditions, weather, player injuries, team statistics and game schedules. Scour the internet for online sources of sports information and other online sports betting resources.
If you want long term success betting on sports, it’s absolutely vital you do your homework on each and every match. Guesses and hunches typically result in losses in the long run.
3. Play what you know
Sports gambling offers a wide variety of options and betting types, and often takes into account a range of terminology including lines, odds, and spreads, just to name a few.
As a result, it’s important to start with sports and teams you are familiar with. This will help you come to grips with the “context” of sports betting.
4. Seek out expert advice
The fun thing about sports wagering is that there is no shortage of commentary and expert advice. The challenge is filtering through all the available information and making a responsible betting decision.
This is where your research and experience come in handy: compare your expectations with predictions from experts in the sports betting field. Often there will be consensus. When there’s not, consider carefully why, and pay attention to those who go against conventional wisdom.
Nevertheless, expert sport gambling picks can often make it a lot easier to win at sports betting. The best idea is to look at a variety of betting sites and bet picking sites online, to see what the experts are recommending.
5. Don’t be a sucker
A sucker is often an inexperienced gambler who spots a “sure-win” they can’t pass up. Just keep in mind, if something looks like a sucker bet, it often is.
If you want to enjoy betting on sports, it’s vital you learn to stay away from these “too-good-to-be-true” bets. Quite often odds makers put up lines just to make sure people take the points. Don’t fall for it.
6. Allocate Your Money Properly
You’ll significantly reduce your risk if you spread you bets across a number of sports and games. In the long run it’ll be far better to bet $25 on 10 games than to bet $250 on a single game. There’s no such thing as a “sure thing”, so don’t be greedy, and don’t chase losing or winning bets.
The road to success in sports betting is long, slow, and steady.
7. Know your history: keep good records
How much have you won? How much have you lost? If you can’t answer those questions you are risking catastrophe with your sports betting. Many inexperienced gamblers don’t even realize how much money they are putting through their online gambling accounts. You are not “breaking even” if you are constantly funding your account, but if you don’t keep adequate records, how will you really know if sports betting is really the best type of entertainment for you.
8. Keep Perspective
It’s impossible to be emotionless when it come to sports betting. After all, the emotional rush is part of why many people gamble (whether in casinos, or online casino, or even through the lottery).
But if you want to experience outstanding results, be aware of your emotions and how they influence your wagering decisions. The more calm you bring to you betting, the better results you will enjoy. Why is this important? If you don’t control your emotions, you will be much more likely to make poor decisions trying to make up for previous losses.
If there’s one recommendation I would make over and over again, it is this: stay calm emotionally.
9. Find an Online Sportsbook
Internet sports wagers are far more convenient than the offline versions. Not only that, internet sportsbooks have no line-ups, meaning that while a live bookmarker might only be able to process 20-30 clients at a time, internet sportsbooks can process thousands simultaneously.
Another plus is that internet sportsbooks enjoy a significantly lower cost per wager, and these savings are passed on to gamblers on in the form of deposit bonuses or reduced juice to bettors.
So that, in a nutshell, are the 9 steps you must follow to make money betting on sports. The better you are at these tips, the more often you will win.
